Ponytail Tying Tips

Dear Almondieu,

If you have hair that reaches at least your shoulders, it is important you know how to tie it properly, whether it be for when you are cleaning, working, or getting into other unspecified mischief.

Funnily enough, I used to avoid tying my hair whenever possible. For whatever reason, I couldn’t tie it comfortably and neatly enough. Lucky for me, I now have a job that more or less requires tying long hair as a safety precaution, so I have been able to practice quite a bit.

Unique Ways to Wear a Headband

Hi Almondieu,

Today I want to record some interesting ways to wear a headband I saw in a book. They’re intended for small, more ornate headbands that remind me of a tiara.

Since they are worn on the back of the head, they work best with a shorter hairband. (You’ll see what I mean.) You will also need some discrete hair ties and strong bobby pins. I’m demonstrating with two kinds: one with teeth at the ends and one without. Since they are positioned above the ears, I found it doesn’t really require headbands with teeth.
